"An attitude of gratitude creates blessings." - Sir John Templeton
I have been so blessed with so much genuine love and support throughout my pregnancy. I was also given the gift of two AMAZING baby showers (one in the place that raised me and another in NYC). The moments created were so beautiful, and truly added to my journey to motherhood. I am so thankful and even more grateful that Dylan will have SO MUCH love around her. Family and friends traveled near and far to celebrate the birth of my dear daughter! I can’t thank you enough…THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Makememommy feelings of the day: loved, blessed, thankful, jubilant
LOL! I started cracking up with family at dinner last night when I declared this, but I swear sometimes I truly feel like an alien! Something living inside of you is the most amazing and weird thing ever! Now that I have passed the six month mark (can’t believe it!), little Dylan definitely makes her presence felt! Her kicking and turning is apparent and continuously makes me smile :-). However I maintain…. I FEEL LIKE AN ALIEN!
I’ve taken this quote more seriously than ever. So I’ve been away from Make Me Mommy for a few weeks due to my FULL preparation mode.
Stroller/Car Seat research and purchase…check!
Parent Prep Class (and damn this was info overload LOL)…check!
Baby Shower (2 by the way LOL) guest lists…check! (thank GOD my amazing hosts are taking care of the rest)
Baby Dylan’s room prep…check!
Oh yeah did I mention I have a job (and my boss is no joke LOL), we’re moving (Dylan needs her space ;-) ), I need to schedule a hospital tour, I’m getting bigger by the day (ass included…yes so sad), I can’t have a drink in the midst of all of this, and I couldn’t be more jealous of the chix’ cute summer fashion that I’m NOT rocking (still working those heels though ;-) )! Oh yeah, and I need to not drive Dylan’s daddy crazy in the process.
So I promised myself that I would document the good, bad, ugly, and indifferent…and yes I’m venting slightly and yes, while serious adjustments come along with pregnancy… it is BEYOND worth it (I frequently envision my beautiful baby girl)!
Despite anything, there is no way that I’m not going to be as prepared as possible (although most moms tell me, it doesn’t matter and I’ll still be ‘winging’ quite a bit). I consider this the biggest and most important research project of my life. Soon, all of my “findings” will need to be put to good use. I definitely started a rookie, but I’m going to end a pro…I’m going to surprise some folks!
